Terms of use

Last updated September 2026

By downloading and using WIND, you agree to the terms below. They're written in plain language on purpose, if something's unclear, reach out through the report page.

What WIND is

WIND is a free Minecraft launcher and client for Windows. It helps you manage mods, play with friends and launch Minecraft. WIND is not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft in any way.

Account requirements

You need a valid Microsoft account with a Minecraft license to play. That relationship is between you and Microsoft, governed by their own terms, not ours.

Using WIND

WIND is provided free of charge, with no subscription or premium tier. You're free to use it for personal, non-commercial play. Don't use WIND to violate Mojang's or Microsoft's own terms of service, or to distribute malware, cheats, or anything that harms other players.

Mods and third-party content

Mods installed through WIND come from Modrinth, a third-party platform. We don't write or review every mod listed there, and we're not responsible for what individual mods do once installed. Use your own judgment before installing anything.

No warranty

WIND is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep it stable and safe, but we can't guarantee it will always work perfectly, and we're not liable for any loss of data, worlds, or progress that results from using it.

Changes to WIND

Features can be added, changed or removed over time as the launcher develops. We'll try to communicate major changes, but WIND is actively developed and things will evolve.

Termination

We can restrict access to WIND's online features (like friends or presence) for accounts that abuse them. The local launcher itself will keep working regardless.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
